Obligation to declare cash on demand by crossing the border
When entering Germany from a Member State of the EU and when leaving Germany to a Member State of the EU, cash and equivalent means of payment totaling EUR 10,000 or more must be reported verbally to the customs control units when questioned. More on the website of the German customs.
